Blackjack Strategy![]() Screenshot of Blackjack from Captain Cooks Casino Playing blackjack strategy means a lot of reading and practising the game, allthough the blackjack rules are quite easy to understand. But lets first have a look at the cards values first: The face cards like jacks, queens and kings all have the value of 10 The ace can count either as 1 or 11 and All the other cards count their face value. The objective of blackjack is to get 21, but depending on the dealers card you need to know the basic blackjack strategy, because if the total value of your cards exceeds 21 you BUST and loose the game. From the cards value you see, that you´ll have to be dealt an ace and a 10 or any face card to get 21. If that are your first two cards dealt you have a "natural blackjack" and win the game unless the dealer has a blackjack too ( the game is a TIE). In each game you´re dealt two cards face up and the dealer get two cards, but one of the dealers cards is face down, so baced on the value of your cards you now have to choose if to draw another card (HIT) or remain with your first two cards (STAND). Lets say you are dealt a King and a 4 (14) and the dealers upcard is 10; here you would have to HIT untill you reach at least 17. Now it´s the dealers turn, and if his downcard is a 9 (19) and you STAND on i.e a total of 18 the dealer wins. The blackjack strategy in the next 19 chapters is going to learn you when to HIT or STAND depending on the first cards dealt, so that you can optimize your gameplay and the odds of winning. Playing optimal strategy will reduce the house´s edge considerably (down to 0,5%) - but enough from me here; lets go to the lessons >>> Blackjack Strategy Lessons |
